TASKMASTER SEASON 8 EPISODE 6

another quick thoughts review on taskmaster

i have made no secrets of my deep undying love for lou sanders- mostly because of her insanity and somewhat shameless personality that continues to be so manically enjoyable. there is an amazing fearlessness and pain that hides underneath her jokes, but it's so dry and unaffected that it honesty is such a joy to watch.

i'm definitely happy to have seen her succeed and do so well on taskmaster - especially because i think rhod/james/phil was a really hard choice for me in wanting them to do well, and rhod actually still didn't do as well as i'd hoped (still really disappointed that kerry godliman won despite her being a wonderful and funny woman.) i also dislike how every season very obviously has a diversity hire when it comes to non-white people, and no non-white women at all. i do love the format of the show and everyone who has been on it- but it's incredibly disappointing to see the very Obvious person who's here to make up the diversity count.

onwards -

the episode:

the phonebooth task was great - i really love all of the people on this season's panel because it really manages to make them endearing, and all of them have such distinct personalities.
sian tackled this hilariously - and she is so tiny next to greg i actually cackled - and that hair close up is hilarious.
lou as always- amazing
weirdly enough i also am besotted with iain, i've always had a warm fondness for him due to his resemblance to a friend, but he's so passionate and competitive despite him copping a lot of hate in the earlier episodes. i find it acceptable within the competition, and seeing him genuinely apologize for the bathtub task, it was obvious that he felt really bad about it. also his face when he grins after the cards, he looks so proud of himself god bless, and every time he gets frustrated its so amusing.

also, paul sinha is so lethargic with these tasks that it cracks me up, he tries really hard but hes reminds me a lot of phil, overthinking the tasks because they are amazingly intelligent but can't do well under pressure.

also i don't really like the album cover task from the lou/iain/paul group, mostly because i was expecting lou to really go nude , also hahaha 'im thinking..... cowboys...' 'im thinking... 30 minutes'

also im so stupidly in love with joe saying 'rock n roll umlaut' and im so strangely in love with his strange awkward personality/persona. greg acting out dead sian coming and his absolute joy at joe saying M GET TOGETHER M M GET TOGETHER - but its too big! literally made my entire life

and also increased my attraction to joe by like 800% with the memory cards, i literally am so sorry for thirst posting but ... d a . m n . ????? damn. mmm. get together. everytime he makes a face? especially when he might get the bonus point o man i want to softly pat his head.

also im so impressed with paul when he did the cards, holy shit that was insane, him on the chase is great and everytime he says he hopes he doesnt get fired gives me a little giggle. and then his 'german story' literally. god bless.

the celebrations were wonderful though, joe (shake it) and paul losing it was frickin hilarious, sian was so wholesome and iain being so broken and still pushing through with the conga line literally gave me a laughing fit. "you don't have to do this."

also lou still winning those live tasks- i love it. she's such a maniac, it was wonderful to watch, though it was not surprising that she would win because of the distance anyway. but damn nothing beats that hoop game.

7/10, a lot of moments cracked me up, really liked the format of the cards game because all the varieties of tasks have been really fun but also not that subjective? also this episode gave me way too much love for joe, bless his lil heart.
