taskmaster S8E8
ahhh i love iain's little accent - also fucking dolphin sex is so real.
i love paul being like, so nifty that he's stolen the chess champion trophy - that gave me life.
again - still in love with joe thomas.
"thick as pig shit" ha i love paul so much.
i thought it was a bit of a cop out that they're allowed to roll the dice again - oh my god, iain getting a massage from alex is hilarious.
again - still in love with joe's facial expressions and how awkward and sweet he is.
shout out to phil wang - i love him always, and im sure he'd be so happy to hear that greg loved the wang.
also i literally cannot see any of the intended contestants from the pictures, the best is sally tho and i'm glad iain got a win this time.
it seems theyve tried to even out the points with the tasks - though i've got a good feeling that lou is going to win.
i still have such a soft spot for iain - he just looks so sweet and just earnest.
OMG JOE CATCHING ALL THOSE BALLS - and i genuinely cackled watching how sian literally did nothing.
also paul getting absolutely fucked by the balls in slow mo- both successfully and unsuccessfully is hilarious and beautiful - and when iain got that blue ball -im so happy.
oh my god pure joe - god bless his pure heart. "not joe" - but joe. but also joe every time. i love him and his facial expressions. "OH FUCK ME". honestly
oh iain looks so proud of himself.
that was a really classic task getting the ball across the line and i liked it - though the 'water' feature was definitely an interesting twist to the typical task.
also im loving the live tasks this season - lou's physicality with all the tasks has been amazing so far but giving paul sinha the chance to flex his words and memorization is a really great way to demonstrate what makes the series great.
being able to cater for all the contestants- by structuring tasks around things that they excel at seem to be a really great way of showing a variety of interesting results, especially after the pretty underwhelming season where all the subjective artistic results were won by noel fielding in his season.
personally, while i find the artistic tasks theoretically amusing, i find them the most uninteresting. most of them aren't really artists, and because of greg's pretty much slap dash judgements of everything, it's hard to pin which one is going make his weirdly subjective cut of what he finds 'good'.
in any case - i've found myself a huge fan of the cast, they're endearing and lovely in all their ways, the live tasks really show how interesting and hilarious they can be, and the reactivity in their responses have been overall, an amazing ride to be on.
i think in comparison to last season - even despite having my favorites on all of the panel, the fact that greg doesn't seem to be too attached to any of the contestants - or maybe because he's just had a different approach this season - has given him a lot more balance and a reasonable approach to judging - and i think he also felt that he had been too harsh on poor phil last season and is sort of brushing up on the judging.
i think they've definitely taken notes from what works and what doesn't from the last seasons, and the editing has also been great with the contestants being so willing to work with them on everything.
in any case, i can't wait to watch next week's episode.
